The Town Panchayath (TP) Shiralakoppa was constituted in 1996. It is situated at a distance of 80 Kms from Shimoga. Shiralakoppa town is a historic place where Akkamahadevi a famous poetess birth in Uduthadi which is near to Shiralakoppa . The Town has the famous Kedareshwar temple having crores of saints. The Balligavi and Thalagunda and Uduthadi stands at 3 Kms of the Town. It has a population of 17,682 as per census 2011. The TP has 15 wards and equal number of councilors and 3 Numbers of Nominee Councilors. Shiralakoppa TP stretches to an area of 18.00 SqKms.

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ: ಶಿರಾಳಕೊಪ್ಪ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1990 ರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ನೊಂದಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಾ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಇದರ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

COMPUTARIZATION: We are very happy to inform the citizens of Shiralakoppa town that we have computerizing the collection of Property Tax , Birth and Death certificates from 1990 to till date under state Government KMRP computerization scheme, from now on wards citizens are requested to visit the Town Panchayath , Shiralakoppa and getting of Birth and Death certificates by paying service fee. Citizens are requested to make use of this facility.

Solid Waste Management in 15 wards has been outsourced. It includes street sweeping and waste transportation. Citizens has to encourage the Door to Door collection activities in the wards and pay the service charges as per the MSW-rules for door-to-door collections.
